AZERI PRESIDENT ADMINISTRATION REPRESENTATIVE REFUTED RUMORS ABOUT SEPARATE MOSCOW-BAKU AGREEMENT
There does not exist any agreement between Russia and Azerbaijan, according to which Moscow is trying to persuade Armenia to return several occupied Azerbaijani regions in exchange for Azerbaijan's refusal to deploy US military bases in the country, head of the department for external links of the Azeri President's administration Novruz Mamedov stated. In his interview to Nezavisimaya Gazeta Russian newspaper he stated the reports spread by the Azeri media as "not corresponding to reality". "We will certainly welcome Russia's activation in the negotiation process, however all the proposals and decisions should be made within the frames of the OSCE Minsk Group. Though if Armenia frees several Azerbaijani regions we could open some ways of communication, viewing the issue within the process of settlement. Thus, we could pave the way for the further negotiations", high rank representative of the Azeri President's administration said.
