AFTER RESOLVING CYPRUS ISSUE TURKEY TO PURSUE ADVANCING POLICY TOWARDS ARMENIAN ISSUE, ERDOGAN STATED
After the settlement of the Cyprus issue, Turkey is to pursue advancing policy towards the Armenian issue, Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Erdogan stated in New York. "Taking the policy of protecting only, we will restrict ourselves to response to the accusations", he said when commenting on the future strategy. As Zaman Turkish newspaper writes, Erdogan's government intends to proceed from defense to counter-offensive. At the same time, according the Prime Minister, Ankara is willing to open the Armenian-Turkish border expecting, however, corresponding steps from the Armenian side. To note, today the Turkish Prime Minister is leaving for Washington to meet with US President George Bush.
