10th constituency in Yerevan’s Kentron district promises to be the most interesting one during the election campaign, with Garegin Nushikyan, president of Nushikyan Association and Khachatur Sukiasyan, founder of Sil Group company running for the parliament here.
Hraparak paper learnt on March 15 that Boris Makichyan, rector of Northern University will also be nominated here.
The Republican Party of Armenia backs Nushikyan, while Sukiasyan enjoys support of the opposition Armenian National Congress.
As to Makichyan, the Northern University is located in the same Kentron district, and the rector will get support from his students and their parents.
Makichyan told the paper he is running for the parliament aiming to voice problems in the educational sphere in the National Assembly.
In particular, he believes the Law on Education and the sphere of higher education need amendments.
It should be noted that Makichyan’s son, Mher Makichyan is head of the Licensing department.
