The first day of European Rapid Women's Chess Championships is over in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, with Armenia’s Lilit Mkrtchian ranking 24th with 3 points.
Following the first six rounds, Lilit Galojan is placed 33rd with 2.5 points. Nana Dzagnidze, Alexandra Kosteniuk and Tatiana Kosintseva top the standings, with 5 points each.
The remaining 5 rounds of Rapid Chess Championship will be held on March 16.
The Blitz Women's Chess Championship, also based on Swiss system and comprising 13 rounds, is scheduled for March 17.
