Public discontent in Armenia can frustrate Armenian-Turkish process
The protocols on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations will probably be ratified in spring 2010, according to an Armenian expert.
"I think it will happen on the threshold of April 24, the Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day. If not, ratification may be delayed for 2 or 3 years," Armen Aghayan told a news conference on Wednesday.
He did not rule out that ratification will be followed by signature of a framework agreement on Karabakh. "The deeper is the process with Turkey, the more problems the Armenian President will have. A huge wave of protests will rise in the republic. Public discontent can frustrate the reconciliation process," Aghayan said.
