Leader of the Communist Party of Armenia believes that after gaining independence in 1991 “we lost Armenia.”

As Ruben Tovmasyan told journalists on September 2, "Soviet Armenia had developed industry, construction, art and intellectuals, which was lost after acquiring independence."

Commenting on the 20th anniversary of Nagorno Karabakh independence, Tovmasyan congratulated the people and government of Artsakh reminding that communists saw the start of the liberation battles of Nagorno Karabakh.
