National Assembly severs ties with Hungarian parliament

During a special sitting convened following the release of Azeri assassin Ramil Safarov, Armenia's National Assembly resolved to officially sever ties with Hungarian parliament in view of the latter’s responsibility for perpetuation of the crime and allowing further precedents.

The parliament characterized Baku’s pardon and heroization of the criminal as a demonstration of political cynicism towards the international community, slamming Azerbaijan’s step as a threat to regional stability and promotion of national hatred.

The National Assembly urged democratic parliaments worldwide to condemn the shameful deal between Hungary and Azerbaijan by adequately responding to the step.
