Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Android 4.1 unveiled - report

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 owners in Europe have stated that they have received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, Digital Spy said.

SamMobile claims that users in France have acquired the update over-the-air, suggesting a roll-out across the rest of the continent is imminent.

The news follows reports that owners of the larger Galaxy Note 10.1 in Germany have started to pick up the upgrade, just weeks after it was released for Galaxy 3 smartphone users across Europe.

Jelly Bean, released along with the Google Nexus 7 tablet over the summer, offers smoother navigation, improved voice support and the Google Now personal assistant.

A refreshed version of the operating system - dubbed Android 4.2 - launched with Google's latest batch of Nexus devices earlier this month.

Samsung is yet to officially confirm when Galaxy Tab 2 users in the UK will gain access to Jelly Bean.
