Shazam has launched a new app for Android devices, Digital Spy said.

Version 4.0 of the software offers a streamlined design and features faster identification of music, TV shows and adverts.

Amazon integration has also been improved, making it easier for users to listen to samples of a song and purchase it via the online retailer.

"Android devices come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, and today's Shazam update delivers a dazzling experience across the range," said Daniel Danker, Shazam's chief product officer.

"Android is our fastest growing platform with more than 80 million people who love Shazam and this is the first of a number of exciting innovations for all our Android users on smartphones and tablets."

Shazam for Android devices is available to download from Google Play now.
