Karabakh army soldier dies after landmine injury

A Nagorno Karabakh army soldier was blown up by a mine and lethally injured while on military duty in the southern direction of the contact line between the NKR and Azeri armed forces on March 31.

An investigation to clarify the details of the death of Harutyun Safaryan, 27 is under way, Karabakh defense army press service reported.

Nagorno Karabakh army soldier Araik Babayan, 19, was killed Thursday, March 27, when performing a combat mission in a military unit at the line of contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces.

Investigation into the incident was launched, the NKR defense army press service said. On the morning of March 24, Garnik Torosyan, 22, was shot dead while on duty at the contact line between Karabakh and Azeri armed forces.

Nagorno Karabakh army soldier Arman Ghukasyan, 20, died from gunshot wounds while on duty on March 19; another serviceman, Varazdat Zakaryan was injured. Investigation of the incident, which occurred in the northern direction of the line of contact between the NKR and Azeri armed forces, is under way.

In late January, a Nagorno Karabakh army soldier, Karen Galstyan, aged 20, sustained a deadly injury in a sniper attack at the northern direction of the line of contact with the Azerbaijani armed forces.
