ARMENIA RECOGNIZED MOST PROGRESSIVE COUNTRY OF THE REGION BY UNDP 2002
According to the researches held by the UN Development Program, Armenia is recognized the most progressive country of the region being the 76-th among the 173 countries of the world. According to the data on the UNDP 2002 website, other countries of the region - Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan occupy the 81-st, 85-th and 88-th places respectively. Among the CIS member states Belarus has the highest index, ranking 56. Russia follows it, being the 60-th. Let us note that the following components form the main criteria for the UNDP monitoring: the live expectancy, per capita income and educational level.
