OSCE Secretary General hopes for Armenian, Azeri Presidents' meeting

OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs may meet this fall and organize a possible meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, OSCE Secretary General said, according to RIA news agency.

Speaking at the CSTO Permanent Council in Moscow, Lamberto Zannier said he has discussed the Nagorno Karabakh conflict with CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha.

“We are concerned about the escalation in the conflict zone and on Armenian-Azerbaijani border: we need to cooperate with the political leadership,” Zannier stressed.

“We met with the Foreign Ministers of the countries and the Minsk Group Co-chairs on the sidelines of UN General Assembly. Another meeting may be organized in fall, with a presidential meeting to hopefully follow,” he added.
