Armenia’s Sargsyan, U.S.’ Biden talk Karabakh by phone

President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday, May 20 had phone talks with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on the latter’s initiative.

Focusing on the current stage of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, the parties stressed the importance of adhering to the implementation of agreements, reached at a Vienna-hosted meeting.

Sargsyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on May 16 met in Vienna, with the foreign policy chiefs of the United States, France and Russia having mediated the summit.

Also, the parties agreed that the conflict should be resolved only through peaceful means in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
