PACE works on decreasing tension between Yerevan and Baku, but still unsuccessfully
René van der Linden: The coming presidential election in NKR will not be recognized by the world community, and there is no progress in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) René van der Linden stated to a press conference in Yerevan. He said, PACE makes efforts to decrease the tension between the two countries, however still those efforts do not bring progress. "Nothing has changed since my previous visit to the region. Relations between Armenia and his neighbors, Turkey and Azerbaijan remain on previous level. At the same time I must underline that during my separate meetings with Armenian and Azeri delegations in PACE we have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to change sentiments in both societies for sooner resolution of the Karabakh conflict," the PACE President underscored.
