Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will meet Azerbaijan’s religious leader Allahshukur Pashazadeh in September, a Mother See representative confirmed to PanARMENIAN.Net.

“According to preliminary data, the meeting will be held on September 8 in Moscow,” Rev. Fr. Vahram Melikyan said.

The upcoming summit is mediated by Kirill, the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus', with the two set discuss the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) and the regional peace.

Both Karekin II and Allahshukur Pashazadeh were invited to participate in Kirill's birthday in November 2016, with the media speculating that the two met on the sidelines of the celebration. The Mother See, however, refuted the reports as disinformation.
