Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan will miss only the European Championship scheduled for April 20 in Tirana, head coach of Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team Armen Babalaryan said.
Armenia’s national Greco-Roman wrestling team has completed its final stage of preparations ahead of the European Championship set for April 20–26 in Tirana, Albania, Aysor.am reports.
Babalaryan said that Aleksanyan underwent a one-month course of treatment in Germany and has now returned to the team.
“He is back on the mat, actively training and continuing his rehabilitation process at the same time. I want to clearly emphasize that Aleksanyan is missing only this European Championship in Tirana. There is absolutely no talk of a one-year break or missing the World Championship,” Babalaryan said.
Earlier, it was announced that Artur Aleksanyan would temporarily suspend his competitive appearances.
