Turkey wants to neutralize Armenia as regional factor
Turkey's banning the Pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) will hardly affect the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement, according to expert Armen Aghayan.

"These are two separate processes, not related to each other," he told a news conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.

"The banned pro-Kurdish party was the parliamentary political force supporting ratification of Armenian-Turkish protocols. That's quite natural, since protocols would enable Kurds to come in possession of Western Armenia," Aghayan said.

At that, he noted that disturbances caused by banning DTP will not push Ankara to additional steps towards Armenia. "Turkey has nothing to prove to international community. It's goal is to neutralize Armenia as a regional factor," Aghayan concluded.
