The White House has nominated Matthew Bryza, former U.S. Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, for the post of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The nomination has been already forwarded to the Senate for approval, a diplomatic source in Washington told PanARMENIAN.Net.
The Ambassador’s seat in Azerbaijan has been vacant for rather a long time, due to some tensions in the American-Azerbaijani relations. Bryza, whose appointment to Baku has long been the source of considerable speculation, has a near-22-year-long diplomatic career. Experts believe that the nomination will be approved.
