The only way to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is to recognize the outcomes of the 1991 referendum in Nagorno Karabakh, Armenian President said.

“Presently, it’s extremely important to prevent resumption of hostilities in the conflict zone. I’m confident that we can avoid war,” Serzh Sargsyan told Echo of Moscow.

“In 2007, co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group proposed the Madrid Document to the sides. However, Azerbaijan started interpreting the proposals in its own way, thus undermining the process,” he said.
