The Madrid Principles for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement were pushed to the background, the head of the research department at Caucasus Institute stated.

“At present, the priority is given to strengthening of trust between conflicting parties,” Sergey Minasyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Currently, Madrid Principles have a secondary priority. OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs have agreed on disallowing for the launch of hostilities in Karabakh conflict zone. There’s mutual consent on the issue,” he said.
