Expert: Russian-Turkish cooperation based on short-term interests

Relations between Russia and Turkey are not easy, a Georgian expert said.

“Their interests coincide on a number of issues but do not exclude rivalry,” head of the international center for geopolitical and regional studies George Tarkhan-Mouravi told journalists in Yerevan.

“I would call Russian-Turkish relations tactical but not strategic. They and based on pragmatism and short-term interests. I dare say that Armenia, which is believed to be Russia’s strategic partner, is eyed by Russia in the light of its own interests,” he said.
