Yerevan Liberty Square under video surveillance

Yerevan’s Liberty Square will henceforth be under video surveillance thanks to special devices installed there. Besides, visiting http://www.myyerevan.am/camera/index5.html, people may watch live video recording of all what’s happening in the Square.

These devices will also allow people watch the rallies of the opposition Armenian National Congress that was finally permitted organizing protests in Liberty Square.

Similar devices are expected to be installed in Charles Aznavour and Republic Squares as well as at Matenadaran, the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts.

Earlier, Yerevan police chief Nerses Nazaryan said that video surveillance devices will be installed in about 10 public places in the center of Yerevan. According to him, it will help to detain those violating the public order.
