Armenian may become full IPA member in 2012

On September 2-9, 2012, Armenia’s full membership in International Police Association (IPA) will be discussed at an Israel-hosted summit, according to the head of IPA Armenian subsidiary.

As Colonel Grisha Sargsyan told a news conference in Yerevan, at September 20-25 summit in Bucharest, Turkey was heatedly opposing Armenia’s membership amid determined support of U.S, France and Israel.

“Out of 63 IPA member states, Armenia has diplomatic relations with only 24. I hope IPA full membership will help Armenia establish ties with those countries, thus extending legal support to Armenian minorities Yerevan has no diplomatic relations with,” the Colonel stated.
