UN Secretary-General condemns terrorist bombing in Damascus

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the terrorist bombing which left many dead and injured in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Ban Ki-moon extended his sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims as well as to the Government and people of Syria.

“The Secretary-General remains gravely concerned at the deteriorating situation in Syria, where thousands have lost their lives since March and people continue to be killed on a daily basis. He reiterates that all violence is unacceptable and must stop,” UN official website said.

A suicide bomber killed about 25 people and wounded 50 in Damascus on Friday, Jan 6, bringing bloodshed to the heart of the Syrian capital for the second time in two weeks.
