The European Parliament Committee believes that the EU president must consider it its duty to represent EU at the top level negotiations regarding the issues of foreign policy and security; within its duties is also the EU-the authorized representative of the forum of EU State and Government heads, work management. The Parliamentary Committee members believe that the European Committee chairman too must be granted the right to represent the EU on top level meetings regarding the issues of foreign policy. As to the EU Foreign Minister whose post has been introduced and stipulated by the Lisboa treaty, the deputies proposed that he have the right to conduct political negotiations on behalf of EU on ministerial level. The recommendations of the European Parliament Committee on Constitutional Affairs are due to be approved at one of the forthcoming plenary sessions, reports the European Parliament press- service.The introduction of the EU president post has been stipulated by the Lisboa treaty, which changes the structure of EU governing bodies. From among the 27 EU member-states only Ireland is left to ratify the document.
