PanARMENIAN.Net - As the host and president of the upcoming CoP17 summit, Armenia was invited to present its preparations and priorities at a working breakfast of African environment ministers, held during the UNEA-7 session. The update was shared by Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan via his official Facebook page.

In his remarks, the minister highlighted the infrastructural and organizational work already completed. He emphasized that Armenia, in assuming the presidency of CoP17, will be guided by the principles of inclusivity, transparency, high ambition, and concrete action.

Matevosyan outlined four core directions shaping the conference agenda:

  • effective coordination of global assessments,
  • building capacity for aligning financial flows,
  • full participation of Indigenous peoples and local communities,
  • and advancing education, awareness, and multi-level cooperation.

Concluding his address, the minister reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to making CoP17 a platform for real action and welcoming all stakeholders in a warm and supportive environment that builds bridges across nations, ecosystems, and generations.
