
As the host and president of the upcoming CoP17 summit, Armenia was invited to present its preparations and priorities at a working breakfast of African environment ministers, held during the UNEA-7 session. The update was shared by Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan via his official Facebook page.
In his remarks, the minister highlighted the infrastructural and organizational work already completed. He emphasized that Armenia, in assuming the presidency of CoP17, will be guided by the principles of inclusivity, transparency, high ambition, and concrete action.

Concluding his address, the minister reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to making CoP17 a platform for real action and welcoming all stakeholders in a warm and supportive environment that builds bridges across nations, ecosystems, and generations.
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CoP17) will be held in Yerevan in October 2026.
