He highlighted programs to modernize the transport system, the reconstruction of Noragyugh, and waste management initiatives. The discussion also covered the implementation of digital transformation projects, including the introduction of a GIS geographic information system. Presenting the strategic directions of the capital’s development and investment-oriented projects, Avinyan stressed that Yerevan is open to innovative ideas, advanced technologies, and sustainable investments. Among the major urban development projects planned in Yerevan is the reconstruction of the Noragyugh district. The Downtown project in Noragyugh aims to ease congestion in the city center and shape a new image for modern Yerevan. French architects are studying the district’s challenges and development prospects and have presented conceptual proposals. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
