Armenia freight transport rises 12.6%![]() July 20, 2026 - 11:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Freight and passenger transportation increased across the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) during January–May 2026 compared with the same period last year, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. Freight transport in Armenia rose by 12.6%, while growth reached 3.4% in Kyrgyzstan and 1.1% in Belarus. During the same period, total passenger turnover across the EAEU increased by 0.8%. Passenger transport grew by 7.8% in Belarus, 6.1% in Armenia, 4.1% in Kazakhstan and 3.9% in Kyrgyzstan. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
