Ferrari auctioned off the first ever F12 Berlinetta in the U.S. to help Hurricane Sandy victims, according to motorward.com.
The charity auction was held during the 2012 U.S. Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and it raised a total of $1.5 million for the American Red Cross. The F12 went for $1.125 Million, which is nearly four times more than the actual price of the car.
The F12 Berlinetta is the replacement for the Ferrari 599. It’s a front-engined V12 super GT with 750 horsepower.
