First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin died untimely on Monday, the Kremlin Press Office reported. Boris Yeltsin was 76 years old. He occupied the presidential post of Russia from 1991 till October 31, 1999, when he resigned unexpectedly.

Former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachov expressed his condolences to Boris Yeltsin's family and relatives in connection with his death. "I express my deepest condolences to the family of B. Yeltsin who has done great deeds in favor of the country and committed serious mistakes," Interfax agency cites Gorbachov.
