The Russian government has approved the agreement on opening a general consulate in the southern Armenian town of Kapan, according to a decision signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The Russian Consulate in Kapan will be the second in Armenia. There is another one in Gyumri, the country’s north.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in Armenia announced that it will open a general consulate in Syunik. The Armenian Foreign Ministry said back in May that the proposal has been approved since April.
